SUMMARY:Stations of the Cross: Disability Justice (VIRTUAL)
DESCRIPTION:Interactive Stations of the Cross with L’Arche NC\n\nThursday\, March 21 on Zoom at 7:00PM\n\nAt each of the fourteen stations\, we will prayerfully memorialize and visualize the journey of Christ to the Cross. At the gathering\, we will use reflections written by Tatum Tricarico\, the L’Arche NC Disability Justice and Theology intern from Duke Divinity School. These reflections will invite us to experience the stations of the Cross from a distinct Disability theology perspective. This will inform us about the joys and sorrows of the Disabled community\, allow us to notice the unique ways that God is at work from a Disability perspective\, and give us the opportunity to pray for God to help us move beyond the Ableism and discrimination that are often present. We will travel through these stations in solidarity with Disabled people and with a deep trust that Jesus’ life\, death\, and resurrection open up a sense of our own calling to live amidst the joys and sorrows of others. \nSign up here! \nZoom link here! https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0lcOygqD0jHtDyh-V_AYsjxISrvkblH_Zx#/registration \nL’Arche NC’s mission is to cultivate inclusive communities where people across the spectrum of intellectual and developmental disability identities live and flourish together. SUMMARY:Craft Together
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to join new friends and familiar faces at Craft Together 🎨! All supplies are provided. We’ll be honoring the Muslim holidays of Ramadan & Eid\, with a craft to match. Henna is the art of drawing on the skin with a temporary dye. While we will NOT be dying our skin today\, we will be creating scratch art that resembles henna patterns\, using our own hands as the templates (or whatever else they’d like to use)! \nJoin us at The Bulla Center  (301 West Jones St\, Raleigh NC) for an afternoon of craft and fellowship. \nWhat to expect: \n1.  We first gather around tables and introduce ourselves. We then ask a get-to-know-you “This or That” question\, such as “Do you like Salty or Savory?” or “Do you prefer the mountains or the beach?”🤔 \n2. Next\, we review the craft we are making for the day. ✅ There will also be a short explanation about henna – what it is\, and why it’s significant! \n3. We craft together\, following instructions\, but still putting our own spin on it. \n4. We present our designs\, and talk about them. \n5. We clean up together and chat about the new things in our life! \nSign up here!
