SUMMARY:Cook Together: Mini Fall Pies
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to join new friends and familiar faces at Cook Together (Formerly known as Cooking with Community). This week\, we will be making three different Fall flavors of miniature pies – Pumpkin\, Sweet Potato\, and Apple! We’d love to have you join us to kick off the Fall season with these delicious treats. All are welcome! \n  \nWhat to expect during this afternoon time of food and fellowship: \n1.  We first gather around tables and introduce ourselves. At this time\, we share what we are celebrating this week (e.g. a birthday\, our sports team won\, a family member visiting\, a new job\, etc.). We then ask a get-to-know-you “This or That” question\, such as “Do you like Salty or Savory?” or “Do you prefer the mountains or the beach?” \n2. Next\, we review the recipe we are making for the day. If it’s a group recipe\, we break into teams of 3-4 persons per table. \n3. We create the recipe together\, following the step-by-step directions (no cooking experience is needed to join us). Sometimes we make recipes that require an oven or stove\, other times we make a treat or snack that does not require any kitchen appliances. \n4. We eat and enjoy our newly made treat. If we have extra time\, we may play a game. \n5. We clean up together and celebrate any exciting news! \nWe ask everyone to please RSVP so that we have enough supplies. DESCRIPTION:Every month we meet at the Bulla Center (301 W. Jones Street\, Raleigh) for Crafting Together. This is a fun afternoon for people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities to get creative and make something awesome. L’Arche NC and friends plan a crafting activity and bring all the supplies. We will be enjoying a cup-full of cider while painting Fall canvases! \nWhat to expect: \n\nAt the beginning of our time together\, we will go around the circle and introduce ourselves. One of the best things about L’Arche events is making new friends. We usually have a “this or that” question to help break the ice of getting to know someone new (such as Cats or Dogs? Beach or Mountains? Pepsi or Coke?)\nAfter the introduction\, one of our fabulous team members or volunteers will explain the crafting activity or project.\nThe rest of our time\, we craft and chat with our new friends and old buddies. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM for our Move Together Scavenger Hunt!! \nWhat to expect from our time together: \n\nWe will gather as a group at the Edenton Street Bulla Center in Raleigh (301 W. Jones Street\, Raleigh NC 27603).\nWe will launch our time together with introductions and our weekly check-in\nWe will walk as a group to Nash Square Park. We will divide into teams and play a scavenger hunt together\, then recollect for a get-to-know-you activity. If we have more time\, we will conclude with another team building game!\nWe will walk back to the Bulla Center for snacks.\n\nTo prepare: L’Arche will provide mini water bottles at the beginning of our session\, but we encourage all to bring their own water bottle. The roundtrip walk from the Bulla center to the park is 1 mile.
