DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to join new friends and familiar faces at Cook Together 🍽️! This week\, we will be making sugar cookies. Ingredients and icing will be provided. \nWhat to expect during this afternoon time of food and fellowship: \n1.  We first gather around tables and introduce ourselves. We then ask a get-to-know-you “This or That” question\, such as “Do you like Salty or Savory?” or “Do you prefer the mountains or the beach?”🤔 \n2. Next\, we review the recipe we are making for the day. ✅ \n3. We create the recipe together in groups\, following the step-by-step directions 🔢(No cooking experience is needed to join us ). \n4. While the recipe bakes and cools\, we’ll play games together. \n5. We ice our treats\, then eat them! 😃 \n6. SUMMARY:Already and Not Yet: Disability and Advent Study
DESCRIPTION:Tatum Tricarico\, our Disability and Theology Intern ♿✝️\, is leading us through a four-week Disability Advent series! \nWe will meet on a weekly basis to reflect and converse with chosen pieces of scripture\, poetry\, and teachings at the intersection of disability and Advent theology. Each session will include the opportunity to learn about an important Disability Justice leader. \nEach meeting will be Hybrid: In-person at Duke Memorial UMC\, & Zoom. \nWhat to expect during this evening of prayer and fellowship: \n1. We first take some time to connect with each other\, and go over the day’s agenda. ✅ \n2. Next\, we reflect on chosen pieces of scripture\, poetry\, and teaching. 📜 \n3. Thirdly\, we converse on those pieces\, with participants breaking into two groups – those on Zoom\, “Zoomies\,” and those in-person\, “Roomies.” 💬 \n4. We report back on our thoughts\, and discuss them all together. \n5.
